Hostas

Hostas, also known as plantain lilies, are the backbone of shade gardens. They provide lots of color and texture and are available in many different shapes, sizes, and colors.

  • Hosta – ‘Dream Queen’ (Hosta)

    This hosta has large, nearly round, corrugated, blue green leaves with a narrow, creamy white center. White summer flowers. Grows to 18″ tall and 26″ wide. Part to full shade.

  • Hosta – ‘Queen Josephine’ (Hosta)

    Foliage is shiny, dark green with creamy yellow margins. Yellow margins fade to almost white during the summer. Purple flowers in summer. Grows to 12” – 15” tall and wide. Part to full shade.

  • Hosta – ‘So Sweet’ (Hosta)

    This small hosta features glossy narrow leaves with wide white margins. Fragrant white flowers bloom in August. Grows to 8” tall and 12”-15” wide. Part to full shade.

  • Hosta – Abiqua Drinking Gourd (Hosta)

    This hosta features dark, blue green seer-suckered leaves with heavy substance, and display a unique cupped form. White summer flowers. Good slug resistance. Grows to 18″ tall and 22″ wide. Part to full shade.

    Angel Falls forms an attractive rounded mound of cascading green leves with beautiful, wide creamy white centers. Light lavender flowers appear in summer. Grows to 16″ tall and twice as wide. Full to part shade.

    A medium sized Hosta with thick, heart-shaped leaves of dark green with a narrow band of creamy-white in the middle. Slug resistant. Lavender summer flowers. Grows to 19″ tall and 40″ wide. Full to part shade.

    This hosta has off-white flowers over rounded, crinkly gold leaves. Grows to 26″ tall and 36″ wide. Part to full shade.

  • Hosta – Avacado (Hosta)

    Closely related to the popular Guacamole Hosta, Avacado produces yellow foliage with wide green edges. White summer blooms. Grows to 25-28″ tall and wide. Full to part shade.

  • Hosta – Blazing Saddles (Hosta)

    This clean Hosta forms medium sized clumps, producing dark green leaves with wide white edges. Grows to 18″ tall and wide. Full to part shade.

  • Hosta – Brother Stephan (Hosta)

    This favorite of hosta enthusiasts forms a large clump of thick, heavily corrugated, puckered leaves. Spring leaves are chartreuse with a blue edge, maturing to gold leaves with a blue-green edge. Near white flowers in early summer. Grows to 24″ tall. Part to full shade.

  • Hosta – City Lights (Hosta)

    A very colorful Hosta, with large, bright golden leaves with intense corrugation and good substance. Grows to 14″ tall and 36″ wide. White summer flowers. Full to part shade.

  • Hosta – Color Festival (Hosta)

    This distinctive Hosta produces tricolor foliage, with deep dark green border and yellow interiors with crisp white centers. Grows to around 16″ tall. Full to part shade.

  • Hosta – Curly Fries (Hosta)

    A miniature hosta, producing very stiff, heavily ruffled narrow leaves. Leaves emerge chartreuse in the spring and brighten to yellow. Morning sun produces the best yellow leaf color. Lavender summer flowers. Grows to only 5″ tall. Full to part shade.

    Exceptionally unique yellow Hosta that emerges bright yelow and also remains yellow all season long. Most other varieties fade in the summer. Lavender summer flowers. Grows to 18″ tall and 28″ tall. Full to part shade.

    This hosta features powdery steel blue rounded leaves lasting well into the season. One of the best blues. Grows to 18” tall and 15” wide. Part to full shade.

    A very nice variegated Hosta with good substance. Leaves have wide green margins, contrasted by bright yellow centers. Dark lavender flowers in summer. Grows to 12″ tall and spreads a little wider. Full to part shade.

    Foliage is golden yellow with blue-green margins and is puckered. Reaches 12”-14” tall and wide. Part to full shade.

  • Hosta – Maui Buttercups Miniature (Hosta)

    Bright gold, 5 inch rounded leaves are deeply cupped and corrugated. They are of heavy substance and demonstrate good slug resistance. Forms a medium sized mound. Flared, violet flowers. Plant in part shade to shade locations. Height: 10-18″., Space: 14″. apart.
